In 1982, Deng Zhongliang had just entered the university gate and chose the popular major of mechanical manufacturing. After graduation, he worked in automobile manufacturing and realized the gap between domestic and foreign manufacturing levels, which gave birth to his desire for new professional knowledge.
After working for several years, Deng Zhongliang chose to return to campus and studied computer-aided design and manufacturing at Beihang University, as well as ultra precision machining theory and technology at Tsinghua University. During his research on complex surface CNC machining and exploration of bacterial machining technology methods, he needed to combine knowledge from related disciplines such as electronic science and microelectronics. Thus, Deng Zhongliang unconsciously conducted interdisciplinary research in mechanical manufacturing, microelectronics, communication, and other disciplines.
This cross disciplinary research will help break free from the constraints of thinking. Therefore, after Deng Zhongliang became interested in navigation technology, he discovered different ideas and methods of communication and surveying disciplines in the field of navigation. While attempting to solve navigation problems from a surveying perspective, he also combined communication technology, ultimately forming a new research direction.
